SECOND SESSION

"DEARTH OF YOUNG LEADERASHIP IN PAKISTAN"

Mr. Cecil Chahudhry said that the young leaders are not being allowed to blossom in the country, how would our politicians allow them to come forward and take the leadership in their hand, basically there are two major problems one is education today it has become an aimless education system in Pakistan, there is no particular career a youth is going to pursue, youth must set their goal at the very initial stage of their life, we have stopped discussing moral education which is the most important, there is a motto of an institution that "Knowledge with virtue" the virtue has been taken out from our education that's why people has become evil, second is future leadership of this country unfortunately we have been misguided by our religious extremists, you have to make a stand on your own with the help of tolerance, peace and harmony.

Mr. Asif Khan told that he was in Manila the observers from Europe and Asia were there to discuss that the growth rate has reduced to one child whereas our population is growing rapidly and cities are spreading to far and remote areas, He told that in 1906 Muslim League came into being and it was considered as a party of Nawab and feudal as separate electorate whereas Indian Congress had advantage of being organized party in Sub – Continent, Many Countries of the world introduced Land Reforms after they had been declared as a democratic states, there had been military rule for 33 years in Pakistan, General Ayub Khan ruled for 11 years, General Zia ul Haq ruled for 11 years, General Yahya Khan reigned for 4 Years and presently General Musharaf has ruled for 7 years, whereas the period of democracy remained for 20 to 21 years within that stipulated time 2o Prime Minister had been dismissed, we cannot progress without youth leadership, the political parties doesnot induct young blood, during the USSR intervention in Afghanistan many young people were inspired through religious fanatics to fight against the Soviet Army.

Mr. Peter Andreas Bochmann said that Pakistan government spend 40% of their budget on military forces if they curtail their budget and spend the remaining on education, to develop new ideas and youth need to be trained, the ban on student federation are not a positive or wise step they must find appropriate solution of the problem to stop the violence, the civic education must be a subject or part of curriculum in the school. It is the task of the youth to introduce civic education by printing books and educating people by holding seminars and workshops, there is need to have a network or alliance with other youth organization.
